Report Writer and Toolkit Courses ( Three two-day courses )

This course covers basic report writing, using the Sybase InfoMaker
Report Writer software. Attendees must have a good working knowledge of ProspectSoft CRM, the data it holds and what it does. The same material is used for the End Users Course. There is no Accreditation on this Course but there will be a short practical paper to show that trainees have understood how to produce useful reports.

Day 1 - Basic Report Writing

This is an introduction to InfoMaker and simple report writing techniques to produce simple list reports. This day will concentrate on how to extract data from the database in list formats without too much attention being paid to the reports’ appearance.

Day 2 - Intermediate Report Writing

This day teaches more advanced report writer techniques including alternate
layouts such as Graphical, Tabular, Group and Grid outputs, and Computed fields.

Attendees must have completed Basic Report Writing Day 1.

Basic Report Writer Pre-Requisites:

 • A working knowledge of ProspectSoft CRM, what it does and the data it    contains

 • Preferably, experience of using another report writer (Crystal, Access    etc.)

 • An understanding of general database structures and how relational    databases are designed

 • An appreciation of Boolean Logic (TRUE, FALSE outcomes for AND/OR    statements)

This course covers advanced report writing, using the Sybase InfoMaker Report Writer software. Attendees must have a good working knowledge of ProspectSoft CRM, the data it holds and what it does.

Days 1 & 2 - Advanced Report Writing

This is a continuation of the Basic & Intermediate Report Writer course, covering the advanced report writer techniques, including Nested Reports, Sub-Queries, Computed Fields and Queries in Computed Fields.

This course finishes with a Pass/Fail Accreditation.

Advanced Report Writer Pre-Requisites:

 • A working knowledge of ProspectSoft CRM, what it does and the data it    contains

 • Preferably, experience of using another report writer (Crystal, Access    etc.)

 • An understanding of general database structures and how relational    databases are designed.

 • An appreciation of Boolean Logic (TRUE, FALSE outcomes for AND/OR    statements)

 • Attendance of the Basic Report Writing Course

Days 1 & 2 - Toolkit

Attendees learn to use InfoMaker to customise the ProspectSoft CRM database.

Topics covered include:
   • Using Forms to collect Retrieval Arguments
   • ODBC Accounts Integration
   • Data Pipelines
   • Real Time Data Tunnel
   • User Defined Tabs
   • This course finishes with a Pass/Fail Accreditation

Toolkit Pre-Requisites

 • A working knowledge of ProspectSoft CRM, what it does and the data it    contains

 • Preferably, experience of using another report writer (Crystal, Access    etc.)

 • An understanding of general database structures and how relational    databases are designed

 • An appreciation of Boolean Logic (TRUE, FALSE outcomes for AND/OR    statements)

 • Already passed the Advanced Report Writer Accreditation
